PGA Tour canceled The Player Championship 2020 and all PGA Tour Tournamnets

On Thursday PGA Tour announced to canceled the Players Championship and all PGA Tour tournaments includes with Masters because of coronavirus pandemic. The Master golf event was scheduled for 9 April which was postponed indefinitely.


PGA Tour said in the statement, we are sorry to declare the cancellation of the Players Championship. We also determined to cancel all PGA Tour competitions across all of our tours.
From the very beginning, we have been committed to being responsible, understanding and straightforward in our decision-making process. We did everything feasible to make a secure atmosphere for our players so they played in the competition all over the weekend, and we tried to provide our fans with a truly necessary break from the present weather. However, this time situations changed quickly, so it is the right way to do for our players and fans to take a break.


PGA Tour decided to discontinue their major events of schedule after the cancellation of the NBA, NHL, and MLS as well as NCAA women’s and men’s basketball events because of coronavirus pandemic.


In the past schedule, the Players Championship 2020 three days event was held without spectators, however, that was put on hold in favor of a plan to keep everybody, such as players, caddies, families, and volunteers - away from TPC Sawgrass for the past three days.
Moreover, The Valspar Championship, WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, and the Texas Open will also be canceled. The Masters also postponed and American golf will not start again until April.
