In 2007 Mayakoba Golf Classic made golf history when it was the 1st PGA Tour competition, which was played outside of the USA and Canada. In the present day, the Mayakoba Golf Classic is considered one of the best and richest events on the PGA Tour by experts and audiences. It will feature 132 professional golf players participating in 4 rounds of stroke play events.

The WWT Championship At Mayakoba boasts a huge amount of prize money $8,200,000 of any golf contest in Latin America, and it is the only professional tournament in the Latin American region that provides its winner, an invitation to the Masters.
